Jan Jongert, 2012architecten, præsenterer det hollandske firmas pionerarbejde indenfor re-use, research og adaption.
2012 Architecten er en hollandsk tegnestue baseret i Rotterdam. Vi hørte et oplæg med partner Jan Jongert under sidste års designfestival i Berlin, og blev dybt inspireret af deres arkitektur- og designstrategi. 2012architecten blev fornylig kåret af Icon Magazine kåret som en blandt 20 tegnestuer som er med til at ændre fremtiden og den måde vi tænker på, 2012architecten "sets an agenda for new attitudes towards materiality, design strategy and play."
Her er hvad partner Jan Jongert selv siger om sit firma og om foredraget på LYNfabrikken:
2012Architecten consider ‘reuse’ to be an integral design strategy. 2012Architecten is a Rotterdam based architecture office that utilises the contextual potential for design. This specific potential is inherent in the existing environment, energy resources or various waste materials. By taking the existing characteristics of the waste material into account in the early stages of the design, innovative applications and surprising forms are created. The design process is not seen as linear but rather as one phase in a continuous cycle of creation and re-creation.
In this lecture 2012Architects explain how they manage to find the "waste" materials using the harvest-map and how they intergrate their findings in the designs. Also inspiring projects will be shown. Duchi, the shoe-shop in the Hague made with reclaimed carglass windows and leftovers from a window frame factory. The Miele Space Station, the experiment with white-goods which ended up in Espressobar Sterk, the playground Wikado made out of windmillwings. And of course our latest realized project: Villa Welpeloo, the first example of a full-scale house made for 75% out of reclaimed materials.
