Raw Edges’ dreamy exhibition in BOX was based in the duo’s existing product the ‘Pinha’ lamp.
By installing six oversized versions of these they took the idea behind their design into overdrive. The giant illuminated peaks that seemed to have pushed their way up through the floor created a miniature landscape. Thereby moving the product from design object into the arts sphere, as it is often the case with Raw Edges’ work do to their specific design approach.

Raw Edges Design Studio is a collaboration between Yael Mer & Shay Alkalay started after many years of sharing life, thoughts, ideas and everything in-between. Yael’s main focus includes turning two-dimensional sheet materials into curvaceous functional forms, whereas Shay is fascinated by how things move, function and react. Together they create extraordinary design which has earned them an impressing number of awards and acknowledgements – and understandably so.
