Ida Thorhauge is a young local talent, who studies fine arts in Aarhus.
Her art takes its departure in painting, but she examines and expands the field in a very unique way by letting her paintings undergo a series of transformations from drawing to painting and sculpture. Thereby creating different expressions from the same motif as well as new angels and entry points for the audience to approach her works.
Beneath the Floor
Ida’s exhibition shows a room within the room. By installing a constructed room within the exhibitionspace she transforms a naive understanding of drawn perspective into a concrete structure which non the less confuses its audience do to its extreme angels, strange lighting and translucent walls. The manifested painting cuts into the imagination and dislocates the senses.
