Natalie Hanssen
Natalie Hanssen is a Dutch writer, journalist and cartoonist.
With a kickstart as a copywriter in international advertising, I soon became a freelancer to be able to do more than cool concepts and snappy copy. For over twenty years I have been writing for businesses & institutions, public magazines & papers.
Fun to read
Mostly I write in Dutch, but occasionally in English. When writing for magazines such as Volkskrant Magazine or Psychology Magazine I often write about psychology-related subjects – I have a degree in Psychology. Next to that I (ghost)write technical articles, reports, testimonials, columns, basically anything imaginable. The constant: a good read. We have to read enough boring stuff as it is.
Cartoons
Next to writing, I draw cartoons. Because words can easy be too much – or not enough. Think: hard subjects made light. Complex things made simple. Boring things made interesting. You find my drawings in PowerPoints, instruction manuals, uncomfortable messages about fines from the municipality (really!), on websites, cars, in folders and in papers.
Have it all.
Many people think it is not possible to be good at many things. But I see it this way. Behind
all the things I do there is Natalie Hanssen. And I am damn good in being that.
